I mostly rate books based on vibes. If I enjoy a book, even if it’s bad, I’ll give it a nice rating. Not everything is critical, although I try to let the review itself dig a bit deeper. Otherwise, though, here’s the breakdown:

 

1 Star: Absolutely irredeemable (very rare — if it’s that bad, I’ll probably just DNF it)

2 Stars: Bad, but something made me finish it

3 Stars: Perfectly average

4 Stars: Really good, will recommend

5 Stars: Top quality, no notes
