Despite it's few faults, I really did love reading this book. You also don't get a lot of people exploring what life in Helsingør looked like before the events of the play, and I thought this author did a really great job building out the origins of the characters and their conflicts. It was a good balance of being true to Shakespeare's version of the characters while also feeling original to this author. Ultimately, this is a great example of how to make the story of Hamlet

This story is short but very powerful. I thought it did a really good job of making the most of its limited word count, successfully creating an impactful and unique story. Of course, I loved This is How You Lose the Time War, so it's not a huge surprise.

Was this book perfect? No, but I'm not in the business of being a hater where Holly Jackson is concerned. I loved reading this book, despite its (rather minimal) flaws.

This was a really charming story. It's another story that reminds me of something you'd read in an English class — a little out there and largely contemplative, but full of heart.

Once I got my footing with this book, I really loved it. It was atmospheric, introspective, and very unique. There were some moments where it dragged a bit, but I felt so much for Piranesi that I was always engaged with his story.

I knew I was going to love this book, but it's taken me such a long time to read it. I'm so glad that I finally did, though. It's a very unique book, and I never would've guessed that an octopus having a point of view would be endearing instead of silly, but it worked really well.

I'm partial to every Hamlet retelling. There has never been a version of this story that I've disliked, and this book is no exception.
